They;s killin me,,,been hauling Anhydros to the ag chem folks and can't get it there fast enuff,,ole boys are waitin on it everywhere ya go IL IA KS NE MO it don't matter just can't get it there fast enuff,,running ag exempt so ya pretty much throw the log book out the winder and go til ya need a nap,,bruttle chit on the body..
So I gots me another idea just take a tank full to Jefferson county and find me a big azz trailer park,,,,crack the valve on the tank so everyone gets a whiff and sell it off in gallon jugs Then I can retire to the Bahammas where the wemmen don't wear no tops!!!

Re: Forkin corn farmers

cook,,,ag exempt= you can run yer azz off for as long as ya want within 150 mile radius at certain times of the year with certain ag related products...Makes absoforkinlutley no sense to me to load haz mat loads and run til ya drop
nh3 ain't like ethanol,,,I can get covered in ethanol and go home and take a shower,,nh3 well ya screw up that bad there ain't no recovery. It BOILS at 32 degrees,,get it on ya it sucksthe mouisture out of ya and causes 1 helluva burn just like fire,,,get it in you eyes in liquid form,,yer blind,,,yer lungs it will freeze dry them in no time..Loading unloading, transporting,it is always under pressure. I'm pretty new to this gig but I dealt with it before in the ag chem business and have some knowledge of what I'm messin with. Had 1 day (2 loads) trainin on loading,,unloading and went solo the next day
lucky for me I understand plumbing and pressure,,,so far no issues..
We have guys at work that won't even walk past a smoke bottle (nh3 trailer) scared plumb crazy of the stuff.
There just aren't enuff trucks to haul it during season,,and never enuff on site storage at the ag dealer.
Most of them can't hold 3 trailer loads and some with older tanks can't hold 2...1 trailer load will fill around 8 nurse tanks that will go to the field (that ain't many).
Used to be a tool barwas maybe 10' wide behind a John Deere 4020,,,,not so anymore 40' toolbars behind a 4wd pullin 2 tanks at a time,,,,everything has been upgraded except for the storage tank.Add to that the pricing differences. This is the KOOL part.......I can go to Pryor Ok and load for Paris Mo. and deliver cheaper (bout $50/ton) trucking included,,,,,than they can even buy just the product from Palmyra MO some 60 miles away..Go figure
Sometimes those folks are wanting 12 loads a day,,I can do 3 every 2 days,,you do the math..We have 14 bottles we're pullin only use em bout 4 months of the year...The cost of a new bottle is bout $160,000,,,that's more than the cost of a new truck (that you could use everyday) So I reckon the Federal Motor Carriers Association has decided that we can legally haul ag exempt to keep corn going in the ground for food and ethanol needs
Basically 24 hrs a day. Most guys are sensible enuff to know when to call it quits..Me I ain't unloading if I'm that tired Nor will I continue to be on the road,,bad plan.
Forgot to mention the loadingig lines,,Had a buddy sit in a 42 trk line in Verdigris OK 10 hours later he pulled up to the rack to load
So I'm thinking my 1 load to Jeff Co retirement plan is sounding better all the time.
Got me a day or so off to recoup then most likely off to haul smoke out of OK or NE or ND don't know yet...Least that will be by the book 10 hr breaks included

Red,

IF you figure a way to run SHINE as ag exempt the rest of the year, you could retire to an island.. cept that the only island that would have you is in the Mississipi!
